Yes, as part of the residential design guidelines; energy efficient appliances, windows, building materials, and building techniques are encouraged throughout the community. Some homes will be entirely zero-net energy homes (houses that generate as much energy as they consume), taking advantage of solar potential and daylighting whenever possible. Another exciting energy feature of the community is the potential use of geothermal energy to heat and cool buildings in the village center and 40-60 adjacent residential units.
